Beachside apartments are on the first and second floors of a converted
Edwardian house, overlooking the beach and picturesque Hele Bay , on
the outskirts of Ilfracombe, North Devon .
Blythe's and Samson's apartments, overlooking
the sea, have been sympathetically converted from an Edwardian
house using the latest building standards. These luxury, self-contained,
centrally-heated apartments have stunning views over Hele Bay ,
and are available 12 months a year. Blythe's and Samson's have all
the comforts of home including full bed linen, microwave, electric
kettle & toaster,
vacuum cleaner, 21" television, video recorder etc. Blythe's apartment is on the second floor
and has the best views; Samson's is on the first floor and is slightly
larger.
Imagine looking out across the bay and Bristol Channel , on a clear
day the Gower peninsula of south Wales is easily visible. The sea can
be very hypnotic, whether on a calm summers day with the waves lapping
gently, or a grey winters day with the surf crashing on to the rocks.
Like most of the spectacular North Devon
coastline, Hele bay has a very colourful history, with plenty of “wreckers gangs”,
luring ships to their doom on to the jagged rocks in order to plunder
their cargo, and of course smuggling was rife.
No such goings on today though. Hele bay is a very picturesque beach
and cove, with plenty of rock pools to explore when the tide is out,
and a part sandy and part pebble beach to lie back and relax on. And with tall hills
on both the east and west side, it is often a sheltered suntrap.

Hele Bay is on the A399 Ilfracombe to Combe Martin road, about 1 mile
east of Ilfracombe, Combe Martin is about 4 miles away and the regional
town of Barnstaple about 10 miles.

You don't have to get in the car to go to the Beach or enjoy the sea

and a laundry on site, and a pub, cafe, take-away, restaurant, shop and
garage within easy walking distance.
Within a mile is a golf course, riding
stables, an indoor pool, an old corn mill & pottery and Medieval
Chambercombe Manor.
The resort of Ilfracombe is only 1½ miles
away - a spectacular walk along the coastal path.
There many other attractions in North Devon within a short drive.
